MARY ROSE "BORDER REAVER" SWORD

A mid 15th century basket hilt. with a half basket very similar to the hilt recovered from Henry VIII's
ship the Mary Rose, While researching this design I was surprised to see that several Scottish
basket (claymore) hilts dating from the 18th century are of this same design only with much wider
thinner bars. So it would appear the claymore is actually an evolved version of an earlier
English design.
THESE ARE A VERY DIFFICULT SWORD TO SOURCE AND PURCHASE.
